About the Artist

Kate Standiford is a lifelong artist whose work blends reality with quiet fantasy. As a character artist, portraitist, and general purveyor of casual weirdness, she creates pieces that invite slow looking and quiet interpretation.

The Work

Moody, atmospheric, and narrative—romantic nocturne energy with a grounded hand. The work leans into contrast, texture, and quiet story moments rather than bright decorative color. Nature and landscape motifs, nocturne scenes, moody romantic narrative pieces, and botanical studies all find their way into the collection.

What do I want people to feel when they look at my work? A sense of stillness and curiosity—like stepping into a scene mid-story. Calm, intrigue, and a little haunting beauty.

Mediums

I work across several mediums, each offering its own voice: original ink drawings with their immediacy and line quality; oil and acrylic paintings that build depth through layers; and one-of-one monotypes—unique printmaking originals where each piece exists only once.

Process

My creative process is organic. I experiment constantly, trying different mediums and approaches, and elevate the pieces I fall in love with to share here. It's less about following a formula and more about following curiosity—seeing what emerges when I trust the process.

Prints

All fine art prints are produced on archival-quality paper using pigment-based inks for exceptional longevity. Each print ships matted and ready to frame, carefully inspected to ensure it meets the highest standards of quality and color accuracy.
